School Uniforms
Some schools use uniforms, therefore, students do not have to deal with school dress code. People go to school to learn the skills that are necessary in order to acquire a well-paying job and ensure a bright future. Many young adults have lost sight of this notion, and the main concern seems to be what to wear to school the next day and whether it is a brand name like Guess, Tommy Hilfiger, Ralph Lauren or DKNY. Several issues, such as, school safety, low academic performance, peer pressure and discipline, are problems in the school environment which may be curtailed with the implementation of a uniform dress code policy. Parents, educators and students have experienced the following benefits with their school uniform dress code policy. Parents and educators report less violence, theft and other incidents when students dress alike or at least similarly. Uniforms decrease the opportunity for showing a gang affiliation or hiding weapons, and strangers are easily identified. By removing the status that clothing labels give to some students and parents, a uniform becomes a great equalizer. Uniforms for high school students can eliminate economic differentiation, prevent bullying, decrease discipline issues and improve adherence to students dress code. Overall, adopting a school uniform policy would resultant in a better school environment for all.

Using school uniforms states behavior in a positive manner. For instance, “I think the benefits of school uniforms can be seen in better and more consistent behavior, but much of this depends on the individual and their upbringing” ( School would see better behavior and fewer bullies around school. Individuals would most likely like to go to school more just for this little change of school uniforms. To illustrate, “Uniforms can help eliminate peer pressure among students and can also help students and parents save time and money” ( Students pressure would go down with school uniforms. Parents would worry less for their children clothing is appropriate for school. For example, “By knowing exactly what to wear to school each day, time is saved for students and parents every morning” ( Students will always worry if what the wear to school is “in” or not. Some students will wake up even earlier to figure out what to wear and if they think they do not have anything it will get frustrating after a while. Also, “Uniforms allow teachers to teach” ( Teachers would not have to be watching if the student is under dress code or not. Teacher would teach more instead of wasting their time with dress code violations. Furthermore, “They also prevent the concerns of gangs and other forms of cliques sporting their "colors" and causing friction between groups or individuals” ( Using uniforms would not call the attention to the “gang” members in school, students would pay less attention to them. Students would not be in cliques for their time of clothing. Students would pay less attention the less important things and more to the school. Assisting schools identify those who do not belong on campus. Including, “School authorities have a liability to provide a protected, safe, and dynamic learning atmosphere for children” ( Teachers would know right away who does not belong at school. Teachers would be able to protect students. Such as, “A school uniform makes it easier for the school authorities to recognize students belonging to their school” ( People who do not belong at school would stand out more. The staff would recognize the intruders more easily to. For instance, “Authorities can also make out if someone doesn't belong to a school, if someone just manages to sneak in; unless, of course, they go through all the trouble of buying a uniform that fits” ( The situation would...
