This worksheet is intended to facilitate group work to identify community problems or issues and to find possible solutions. Step 1: List problems and issues that you see in your communities in the space below: 1. Poverty/Hunger
2. Racial Profiling
5. Immigration Reform
6. Healthcare or the lack of
7. Tuition cost
8. Social or other forms of bullying
9. Environmental safety.
10. Lack of grassroots leadership.
Step 2: Choose 3-5 “problems” from the list above and brainstorm possible solutions in the space below: Out of the above I've selected to focus on Poverty/Hunger, Racial Profiling/Official Mis, and Drugs. Personally I don't think there is a way or method to totally weed out poverty or hunger, chiefly because there will always be abusers, who circumvent any counter measures or new systems put in place, but if there was a way to root out poverty and hunger I cautiously maintain that it would have to be some form or versions of socialism.
Step 3: Choose one of the solutions listed above. Write 4-5 related research questions in the space below: (Use the information given by your instructor on how to write a good research question):
1. What can I do to help the feed those in need in my community? 2. To what extent would a free weekly community based dinner impact the homeless population in my community? 3. Can this be a joint effort that combines other local food depositories? 4. How can ensure that people are aware of this service?
