Homeless Shelter Business Plan

I want to develop day time homeless shelter in Las Vegas because Las Vegas metro area has nation's fourth highest rate of homelessness. There are hundreds and thousands of homeless people live in tunnels to escape desert heat. Many people have misconceptions about homeless people that they chose to be homeless and they all use drugs and alcohol. I believe there are many homeless people who just need little of bit of support and motivation to get better and willing to change their life. Therefore my focus is to help everyone who is in need of help and support. I also believe there are many people who are willing to volunteer, sponsor and support homeless people.

Business Objective: Our non-profit homeless day shelter will provide housing, food, clothes and counseling and employment opportunity for up to one month. The shelter will serve breakfast and lunch, shower and laundry facilities, a food pantry, a clothing closet, and assistance to patrons in finding jobs. The shelter will be open Monday through Sunday between 6am to 5pm.

There will be volunteer or intern psychologist, therapist and counselors to provide important information which include life lessons, education and career guide and other essential skills to succeed in their life.

Operations: The place/building will be funded by local church, private contributions, residents, the city and/or other local corporations. This will be a tax-exempt non-profit organization supervised by the human service professionals and board coordination. The shelter can have up to 50 people but number can be vary depend on the location and space that we are going to have.

Facility: There will be intern/volunteer students and residents help with the serving food, play with the kids, have conversation with the groups and do other activities with them.
