Homeless Epidemic In America
Being homeless is the biggest epidemic in modern day America next to health care. As the numbers climb the local and federal governments have no answers as to why. As 407,966 people are homeless the local cities need a answer to this problem. With the homeless drug addicts roaming the streets and committing crimes. Also with them bringing down the looks of the local neighborhoods we need to build a bigger homeless shelter for this people to be able to go. That is why during this speech i will present facts on why are city needs a bigger homeless shelter. Instead of worrying about building new stores in the city we need to focus on the people who need help the most which are the people that are homeless. Instead of spending one million plus on a new store how about you the city take the one million plus and build a new homeless shelter. With are homeless population have to line up at 4pm to get a bed for the night and still over 45% are turned away doesn't that make you guys ashamed of you self? If you guys would vote to build a new homeless shelter not only would you be helping out you community. But there is opportunity for you guys to improve our image with the community knock at the door. The first issue i am going to address is homeless drug addicts. With them running around the city willing to do anything for their next hit do we really need these kind of people running around the city? With 34.7% of homeless people depending on a illegal substance we need a place where this people can go get help with their problem. With the community tried of the homeless drug addicts committing crimes you guys need to remember that time creeps up on you fast. The second issue i am going to address is having a bunch of homeless people through out the town brings down the image.
